- Go to My Mother is an Ugly Woman
Ah, my dear Aba, what a great post to bring. in my state here alone, I would hope that the homeless people who walk our streets and beg on corners - would not have to live as this and this dilemma, this sad source of sorrow is everywhere - oppression comes in many forms, my dear Aba ~ and I think it odd that here within such a nice city where I live there is an area known as the "north" side - where the more elite of the 'south side' won't venture. I just find it all so comical - certainly, not what should be. It is probably a definite magical thing to some, more magical than spiritual to be able to find perfect bliss and certainly less negative within one's self in order to simply see: a person - humanity as part of what we are...all of us - living, breathing, souls with the potential to give our best at what level we have been born into or are comfortable with. I find this sad and poignant and yes, should leave us all to ponder and reflect upon. No where and no way should a person ever have to endure mockery of their birthright - their Motherland to be spit upon...total disrespect to me and of Life. One should always care for their Mother with the utmost respect and loyalty. Ely ~

Rightly so, the socially upstanding poeple defecate mentally, in public as Kabu rightly pointed out, to gain acceptance in foreign cuntries by denouncing their own. This is despicable, worse than those who defecate physically in public. Thanks Luci.

Australia is an admired country in my view, or was rather so until sometime ago. They were the cricketing giants of the world, almost unbeatable. But now that they have been repeatedly trounced in that exalted game, the whole of their target of vengeance fell on innocent students, merchants. This is so sad. Man's mentality is governed by illogcal logic it seems.

Considering the fact that India, until sometime ago and at places still, is reeling under untold poverty, for the such unfortunate, shame and honor mean nothing. But to be mocked at by the those who are singularly fortunate, is much, much more shameful. So I fully concur with Mr. Bagchi's title.

My Mother is an Ugly Woman
I was very intrigued by this post, and thank you for sharing it. Unfortunately, I know several
socially upstanding people who mentally defacate in public often, and some people actually believe in it, and accept it.

A truly thought provoking post.....I am sorry that the man thought he had
to deride his race and country; to be acceptable in another society with its own social problems.
I am ashamed that in my own country in the city of Melbourne there is ugliness happening. Indian University students are being the target for beatings and worse by gangs of thugs. We are a multicultural country but underneath tensions exist between different ethnic groups. It saddens me for I love my country. Kudos for posting this.
