Wow, and I believe, it's truth - generally when searching one's self - the tendency should (maybe or usually) turns to a search for spiritual healthiness - however, not always. So, this poem of yours is Aba admirable, and just simply profound. Ely tips her heart ~

+ As former students of ministry use the term theology it’s in this poem. This is a fine approach to the problem of man. And it works both personally and applicably to everybody. BC-A, Bill’s Roost

Sometime back while reading today's newspaper I was stopped in my track by the picture of Hafiz Saeed & his Lahore speech,he said one Mumbai was not enough,I looked at his picture again &again, outwardly he looked normal like any one of us...........then it must be the mind I thought working overtime to spread such hatred & then I read your poem here like an answer to the problem...,,look within! Kabhi maine likha tha.....bheetir ka andhkar metaion ya bahar ek deepak jalaion,Ganga mein doobke laagaion ya aatha sagar mein doob jaaion.....

"If non-violence has not dawned
In the heart, how will the senses
Remain calm?
Before we search God, let us instead
Start by first searching the man within us"
Abanerjee - It all starts with this heart of the matter. Loved the poem.

You are right. God first says, find Me within yourself. I am in everyone's heart. But man, unfortunately, looks everywhere else but in his heart and, therefore, never finds. Because of man's constant pestering, even God has had to find a safe haven for Himself. The whole of Hindu teachings of the
rishis, munis and
maharishis, of Yoga,
Gita, Vedas, Upanishads, is the assertion that the real self is (qualitatively) God, go find. (
Aham Bramhasmi, I am He). first know this, then of course, the processs of realization.

I just love that name. Long time after, I am seeing you. Welcome Rain. The last I read you was when you were a little troubled with your young lad's pranks. Remember?

And that is why it is asserted that God made man in His own image. Thanks, Nita.

Very well written!
As we look within we find the part of us that reaches for God! If we cultivate that part of us we will be all the richer! Keep Looking up! Dan

This is the basis of spirituality--to look into the self.
