Memories are so precious..reminds me of a quote--God gave us memories so we can have roses in December. Thanks for your comment--glad you liked the prayer.

I loved the hot dog pot! What a fond memory! I completely understand the thought of one more steak dinner, too! The time seems to drag until we lose someone and then the floodgates open! You are very good and loving to the folks in your circle and that makes you very special in my eyes! sam

For me it was Mum's soup. I loved it but as mum got sicker and further into
her Alzheimer's journey Dad took over making the soup....pretty good too. But they always had soup for me when I popped in for a visit....it could be really hot...but the soup was always there. Like a good daughter...I always ate my bowl full and as they held their breathe in anticipation...I always asked for more. All these years later....25 nearly it still stabs with pain.

Skye, you make me homesick - We had a hotdog pot as well --- and a chili pot and a gumbo pot and a rice pot --- you just simply made me homesick and in a good way. You would travel for steak and I would travel for Mamma's oatmeal LOL --- I loved her oatmeal. I liked my Mamma's roast and rice and gravy as well - nothing like your Mother's cooking eh?
This was a great post and I'm glad y'all got to go over such and you found pics as well. Now that's a great plus.
