Re: I really feel for you I like everyone else had so many set backs
Kabu,
You mean that I have ANOTHER eternity enduring Marilyn's lavish lip service, to anticipate?!! Wow! Suicide is looking pretty good, after being told to expect that. Thanks a pantload. I thought we were pals!

I battle the smoky beast too...
Trying to defeat it sans any aid, but I have heard from friends that Chantix does work, if you can get through the first few days of side effects. So hang in there; I'll be following and probably experiencing the same or similar soon..:)
p.s. - Thanks for the reads!

I really feel for you I like everyone else had so many set backs
before I quit the habit. It was awful. I tried a patch and fainted at work....how embarrasing to see head nurse faint in a crumpled heap and then barf 'er up like a drunk. It is a myth that a girl can faint gracefully into the arms of an Adonis.
I have been a closet smoker, an open watch me I don't care smoker....I quit when I could no longer breath after a couple of delicious puffs. That did it....I am finished .......now I just want you to think for a moment what an eternity of Marylin nagging you for dying and leaving her to cope on earth without your support would be like!

Yow! I guess a barf in the bush
is worth a lung out of iron. I tried that Xyban stuff a few years back -- gave me the weirdest, mostr vivid dreams I've ever had. Not scary, just...weird, like, wake up from something really vivid and go, "WTF is wrong with me?"
I have finally quit, I think for good, but it took thrity years and oral surgery to do it.
It still amazes me that after a good, long run -- which I do almost every day, the first thing I want, after a huge glass of water, is a tasty and nutrious Marlboro Light.
I'm going to take the Grizzard gambit -- he once said, "I'm giving myself an out. I'm going to start smoking again on my 90th birthday."
Good luck, buddy -- it's a bitch.
