You are funny! And I desperately needed the laugh... It truly is the best medicine. Good luck with the smoking thing...

Re: Guy
Naut,
I have found that I get the same reaction from eating an apple. It makes the smoking experience an exercise in nasty tasting futility. Makes my teeth squeak and leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I find that now that I'm taking a morning pill, AND an evening pill, I don't feel the urgent need to rush around finding a cigarette or making one, as soon as my feet hit the floor, in the morning. I was awake for over an hour, before lighting up, yesterday. That hasn't happened to me for at least several decades! I am much relieved to find that Chantix has absolutely no effect upon my other, actually, benign, and extremely pleasurable smoking behavior. That would have been the last straw, for my attempt to quit, before even trying to face up to expected withdrawal pangs. This might just WORK!

Love these 'How-bad-is-the-economy' tales...And quitting the smokes? Hang in there, you can do it! I did, and I didn't even have that Chantix stuff...
But let me give you another little helpful tip: whenever the urge hits, drink a glass of grapefruit juice! I did, and it helped! Why? Well, have you ever had a glass of grapefruit juice when you smoked? Thought so...Coffee, yes; beer, absolutely; wine, anytime; scotch, perfect; but grapefruit juice? Yuck, makes the cigarette tastes like you don't even want it...which is the point...
Oh, and Happy Easter...

dunno about Chantix, but Welbutrin, worked for me, as a side effect, I
just got tired of smoking and wanting to quit just did, no withdrawal, no anxiety, none of the old voices telling me to hit the convenience store and just buy some some, g'wan.........it was a real blessing, as I could not, really could not breathe anymore.
Good luck to you.
LOVE the jokes.

Like I said, all it took for me was thirty years
and severe oral surgery. And even now, as I bask in the glow of a healthy meal and the thought of a four mile run tomorrow, I'm working on one of those mocha flavored nicotine lozenge mint thingies like it's a lifesaver. I suppose, in a way, it is.
Hang in there!

Wicked Sage.....you can give up the cigs.....if you really want to.....no
one else can tell you what to do but you have all my support.
Some of my worst moments were......picking up half smoked Buts and relighting and dragging on them. ...er....no ...not my own buts No nothing that acceptable.
Then one day I couldn't breath and frightened myself and quit. cold turkey...the end.
