You did the right thing!
I would too!  Except I wonder if I was in my twenties I'd do it.  I have some experience in harrassment where I couldn't handle it by myself fresh out of college.  It wasn't that I was stupid, just naive, even innocent!  That head waitress was lucky to have you about!

Darson, you poor thing.

Of course you did the right thing!  My husband is an ex-cop, and I'm sure his police hackles would have been positively bristling while reading this.  Furthermore, I'm surprised the officer didn't ask if you wanted an escort, considering the way you'd been "singled out".

((hugs))

I hope it is the later, too! In any event being bound to the truth morally is a fine way to be! sam

You are just too much. The very first two lines tell me. This I'm saying reading these two. Tomorrow, I must savor the delight of reading you. Didn't you know I am dieting, hahaha . OK, as much I know I'll share with you on Yoga. This too, I propose for tomorrow as an entry, I'll let you know if I do.

..The only reason I admitted to it was because the police had my first name; that, and I'm a lousy liar and if someone asks me something straight out, I can't lie to them...Even if they asked me second or third-hand, I couldn't lie. I've tried that route before and it was disastrous. I pretty much stink at it.

Darson, how do you get all those miracles to happen to you
I would not have called the police, but if i did I would never have admited to the waitress that i did. lol ,  you handle things differently. I would have done something stupid like go up to that guy and tell him to get lost, and gotten beat up or something like that.

You definitely did the right thing! But is there no manager in that place? I would have called the manager and told him that this fellow was annoying me and the other customers, and to remove him! I think you showed a lot more patience than I would have...

I trust your judgement so I say you did the right thing.
I find management behaved a bit weird through the whole thing.

You owed it to yourself to speak up, and you did...
Nothing wrong with that, but the mgmnt needs a few dress rehearsals on how to assert themselves when a solicitor is running the clientele off.

Me? I would have ignored it, but I don't blame you for feeling uncomfortable.

You did nothing wrong. Sometimes politeness gets women killed
when someone aggressive is threatening in one way or another. You were right to call the police -- otherwise the guy could have kept the pressure up and made everyone unhappy for much longer.

Darson (Angel A)

You know what - these type of characters used to come to my doorstoop and you have to come a full football field up to my doorway ~  and it unnerved me constantly...and sometimes I would stand at the door (thanking the Lord that my dogs all bark very loudly) and bare their teeth as well if they sense Ma is upset or alone outside with a 'stranger' but...then it got out of hand and I simply put a stop to it by meeting a woman who would drive her car up my drive and asked her to leave my property & that was hard because she would ask for handouts  ---  she told me she had Cancer and her children were starving...she did this for about oh 6 months and I would give her food and yes, some few dollars (because someone suggested she was a drug addict probably so certainly I didn't want to give her large sums of money) -  (which being as 'trusting' as I - I just didn't accept that) --- finally I had to tell many others to just 'leave' my property - and one I had to get a bit 'red in the face' and insist he either leave or I would call the police and yes, I am so afraid of retaliation - however, it's truth, I love my dogs- they are loving and precious to boot but given a situation, I know teeth will bare a butt - or a hand or ... they are very very protective of me.

All this to say I am very proud of you for standing up and doing what a concerned citizen should do because it sounds like these people were just that: "hostages" in their ignorance or kindness.  Awww and as far as that creepy person shooting the eye contact - I pray the police did get rid of him and that he wouldn't ever be able to cross your path again.

I don't think they're upset nor angry - but if they were concerned about police showing up hmmm...wonder why that is?  LOL --- Bless your heart - I love Chinese food too and I certainly like to eat it in 'peace and quiet' ~ especially a buffet ~

I've got many of your blogs to read and catch up on - excuse my long comment here - I'll be back once I go eat - You made me hungry don't ya know.  xoxoxo  Elyse

You gotta go with your gut, whether it's for Chinese food or to call
the police!  You did the right thing!
