I will never understand why some are chosen and some rejected. As you say, it is just subjective I guess.

One of an adult's biggest tasks is to critique the critiques.
Thanks for reminding me of that.
It's hard to judge our mentors; between rejecting good advice, taking advice too close to heart, and not knowing when advice is off point or just plain bad.
The flip side: don't you just hate when you give someone a tip and then realize later it was just wrong? (LIke the time I accdentally sent some lost tourists off with my map, only to realize I still had the right map in my car...).

My middle son has Asperger's. To him, the purpose of entering a competition is to compete. His Aspergerish mind can't fathom that there could be another motive.
You are a stronger woman than many, for not giving up, for being willing to fail, and I know your successes have been and will be far worth it.

Whatever, is right.
I wonder what another publisher might think of your shortlisted things.

Great insight and continuity, Azur..
You surely have all the ingredients for success - talent, focus, the ability to go around any and all obstacles. I will be proud to say someday: "I knew her when"..:)

I am finally emerging from my fog of too much to do and not enough time to do it in and the break from here has done me some good, but it is nice to be back. Still holding my plans to accomplish more writing wise.
