Re: p.s. - Thank you for the link to your website and article
I would strike at the heart of big pharma and take away their "right" to own patents, which is clearly unconstitutional. At the same time, the creation of a medical curriculum and certification process tightly integrated with the municipal medical and education departments would not only provide doctors unburdened by the medical school loans, but a distributed pharmaceutical research system. In short, I intend to reduce pharmaceuticals to manufacturing-only companies while returning research to academia.

Very well thought out and written. I agree with most everything you state - it is time for the U.S. to grow up and away from everything for elitist profiteering and join the rest of the civilized world. I wonder how you view big pharma and their motivations? On one hand, I respect and appreciate the advances in medication therapies they lead the way in, but on the other hand I know the difference between their research and development costs and final market prices are unbelievably huge and manipulated for an overbearing profit model - have you seen the drug rep.s flocking and gifting at your doctor's office lately? Almost looks like bribery and definitely sounds like it - I was on an elevator once with a couple of reps, kind of tucked into a corner, not paying much attention to the conversation, until they started talking about their "quotas" for the number of prescriptions written (each doctor expected to meet certain numbers every week) and how much they had to wine and dine the doctors to begin building mutually beneficial relationships; free vacations were apparently the new hook at that time and had to include the doctor's family. The look on their faces when I stepped between them to get off at my floor was priceless..:) And the way the FDA has been taken over by them; side effects and safety be damned!

Re:
And thank you for stopping by and commenting. My hot weather experience had been DC summers, especially August: 90 degrees with 90% humidity. I became acclimated enough to survive it but never enjoyed it.

I finally learned to love the heat. It took a few years in Mexico for that to happen. But now, back in the USA, I am learning to enjoy the cooler weather again. Thanks for stopping by.
