{ You’re a master of the memoir. It makes youth not what it’s usually portrayed as. For you the perspective was of a child but sadly adult in affect on your life. I have just caught up here - with the previous posts as well, of course - and all I can say this is
very well told. You maintain your little-girl perspective throughout, which makes it very powerful...And yes, 'Gerald' is indeed a creepy character, and I suspect we are going to hear worse things...

I cannot imagine watching soemthing like that at such a tender age. No child should have to see that...You and your sister were quite perceptive from the events you were seeing.

I was so glued to the story, and although it was violence uncontrolled and almost unabated, Uncle Enrico's justice as you said, nobody who would spank his sister-in-law could ever get away. Nobody, was somehow very relieving, especially in that that your dad was scared of him. Exceedingly well told

coped....and I wonder how many times.....well at least some people saw through the bio Father.
