- Go to Are You A Cowboy?
Randir
You should go! It's still rodeo season, you know! Thank you for your kind comment. Sometimes a kind word lands right when you need it to; such is the case this morning. I hope you have a really wonderful day for the good you've done me. Thanks again.

Really nice piece of writing here
I read some of your rodeo reporting, and it is all good reading. It gets your feelings across and stimulates mine too! Now I want to go to a rodeo!

Music to my ears, my friend....I actually wrote it to be able to become a credentialed media member during the Stampede days...a commitment of about six weeks or more, acting as an embassador, interviewing the participants and recieving all of the press priviledges. Even though it's not for pay, I thought it would look good in a writing portfolio...So, your comment is just what I was looking for!!! THANK YOU, JUSTI!!!

I loved every line of this post. It is salable. It is suitable for a magazine looking for the culture of the 'real west'. A travel post or just good stuff through the eyes of a transplant. Loved it.

You have told quite a fascinating tale about the culture shock you experienced. I wonder how I would have experienced such a change like that. I have never been to a rodeo. In Maryland, we do not have too many of them if any at all. I feel that it is great that you are going to be going to one.

...How did I not know this about you? We do the Race for The Cure every year. Next year I will add you to my tag that says, "In Celebration Of"!!! I will certainly wear pink for you. Nails, earrings, toenails, shirt...maybe even a stripe of it in my hair, if I'm feeling very daring. And of course, the pink lipstick! YOU'VE GOT IT, LADY!!!

I'm not a cowboy... But I remember some real roundups,
the Snake River Stampede! Wow, does that bring back memories. The one I remember best is the big rodeo in September, where the champions were made: the Pendleton Roundup. I did love the real cowboys when I was a kid.
