Soldiers sacrifice so much, sometimes unknown until later; I agree it was still a combat wound.

and for reading some of my blogs! It's sad to see the negative effects agent orange had and still is having on the world. In 2000 I visited thousands of sick, crippled and dieing victims of agent orange throughout Viet Nam. I'm sorry your Dad had to suffer and as a veteran myself, I am extreamly thankful for out patriots and courageous warriors who gave their lives for our freedoms...

Well Sir, I hope your Dad saved many lives by his sacrifice, he may be an unsung hero, but he lives proudly in your memory and I expect he would treasure that more than medals.

Thanks, sam. Memorial Day has been problematic for me on account of it. Those who gave up their health do not get the same recognition as those who give up their lives, yet they are not there to be honored before their grandchildren either.
