Coal under pressure turns to diamond.

Yes a nice poem ash I expect most people wil have to put up with a man made one eventually. And as Taps says coal always came at a price worth more than diamonds to some

I think that the true miracle

is looking at the coal and realising that under the right circumstances that could be diamonds too

Great poem

Ash - I really liked the whole idea of rummaging through looking for diamonds amid the gloom. They do sparkle. I have a few stuff made of diamonds but these days rarely use it, other than that I have seen how they source and cut them on tv. It is an art.

Fantastic thought and verse, Ash!
I've seen coal gleaming from mountain sides. Also saw the Hope Diamond at the Smithsonian Museum and it is incredible. Such a deep and sparkling blue, a summer sky under glass.

Trying to find that special someone is indeed like that.

My Grandfather was a coalminer who died at 52 with breathing problems from coal dust.  His son, my uncle, worked in the coal mines and fell in a shaft and broke his neck.  He left three little children for his widow to raise.  Neither of them ever found a diamond.

Have you ever found one? Are you one?...
The world can use some shiny diamonds among gloom. Please share your experiences with the readers.
