Something I ought to have added to the Road Trip story.
The motorcycle racer who was competeing with a 250 cc Honda bike, in the 500cc class, won that class all year long, taking the Canadian Grand National title in the 500cc class, and turned down the Honda factory's offer to be entirely financed and supplyed with the first of the groundbreaking "Honda four" in-line engined crotch rockets, his own pit crew of mechanics, traveling tool trailers, bus, train and plane tickets etc. if he would sign on and become the Honda factory sponsored racer. This talented, self-taught mechanic and motorcyclist turned the factory down, preferring to never have to listen to those who were his inferiors and have to take orders from anyone. His name is or was, Jeff Hoff, and I was told that he disappeared from sight in the sixties, after being labled a terrorist bomber or something, put on the most wanted list by our government, and he was last seen in Britain, competing on the pro-racing circuit, traveling all over Europe. In those days of "Students for a Democratic Society," (SDS) "Black Panthers" Jerry Rubin, John Sinclair, Abby Hoffman, Tim Leary, Acid Owsley, Patty Hearst and the "Symbionese Liberation Army," The Manson Family, Jedgar Hoover, Chicago Mayor Dailey, Nixon, The Tonkin Bay incident, the Mayaguez, Kent State, et al,
It is hard to guess if anything we were told back then, was backed up by actual, unvarnished facts, because in those bad old days of yerteryear, our own government routinely told lies to us, it's own loyal citizens! Such behavior could never, ever happen nowadays, right? RIGHT? Oh crap, that is what I was worried about!

Kristles, Men learn early on, that if you can flap the dust out, NO WASHING
Dirt, compost, or chicken crap! What differences are there between these substances, but for the variables of moisture, and time? I think (hope) it was Water cat or Sam444, (Taps?)who wrote something, only a day or two ago, about people who refuse to eat organic vegetables, because they are grown in MANURE! You "double Xers" will wash practically ANYTHING, at the drop of a hat! Unless the hat is accidentally dropped into a vat of cat urine, a rug-beater and a brisk breeze, does almost as good a job of cleaning, as a trip to the dry cleaners! Haven't you women ever wondered where the term DRY cleaning, came from? Boy you women waste oceans of hot water and time, all for nothing! Just be sure to stand with the wind at your back, or hold your breath, while using the rug-beater! Don't women's mothers teach them this stuff?
No need to thank me dear Chrysalis, just buy Strat a bottle of Mad Dog 20/20, dilute it by half, and pour it into an empty Chablis bottle. He'll probably never even know the difference, the lush!
I don't think that I've ever seen the flick Fandango, but I'll keep my eyes open for it. Allow me to recommend one of my own now, my very favorite movie of all time, in fact. It was the FIRST Cohen brothers movie, (pretty sure!) and is called, "Blood Simple." It has Francis McDormand (I think in her very FIRST movie role,) and Dan Hedaya, the barmaid Carla's weasely ex-husband, from "Cheers." It also featured the late, great character actor, M. Emmet Walsh, as a professional thug, turned killer, who as the narrator, confides that the "blood money" made him "simple."
What a masterpiece, for a first effort! Spielberg and Coppola must envy such talent!

That is a great story! But, who in the hell but guys would ever choose to sleep in a house full of chicken shit????!!!! I mean....really???!!!!! I'll be re-telling this story to my friends for that part of it alone!!!!! The bats part adds a great dimension but it's the decision making part that's priceless. Have you ever seen the movie, "Fandango"? It's a great roadtrip movie and I highly recommend it....one of Kevin Costner's first....college buddies going to Mexico just before one is going to 'Nam....it has some of the funniest stuff in it I think is in any movie.....
