Sinome

NN I have had such thoughts. I also used to think of the green hillside on the other side of the main road. And then I lived over there for a few years. Life would be a dream shboom love. BC-A, Bill’s RJLst

I have lied
"the simple blessing of a dream" sounds so right!  I enjoyed your poem!

Well Simone What I would do is say a prayer and think when I have finished I will think of something that I desire it doesn't matter what it is. It is only dream thought. I usually find I fall asleep before I can appreciate the dream. Nice writing

Your poem got me to thinking about the prevalence of escapism, or as we call it today, mental diversion.  Listed in wikipedia are so many things that people use/have used to escape from day to day problems, negativities, and not so good memories:  fiction literature, music, religion, sports, films, TV, roleplaying games, pornography, recreational drugs, video games, fashion, the internet.  Even eating, sleeping, exercise, sexual activity, all normal and healthy necessities can become avenues of escapism when taken to extreme.  I see myself in a lot of those.
