I Love how You compare the City and Nature using Rain
It made me think about how the effects of something good really depends on what if falls upon or where it lands.

Darling, this is just what it is like here when it rains....
soft and promising growth and colour. The trees are washed clean, the grasses reach towards the life giving drops; the animals and birds disappear while the rain falls to return refreshed busier than ever...I agree in the city it is just inconvenient.

It must be raining everywhere! I was just sitting outside listening to it.
Great poem.

I find the rain to be majestic as well. It can be so beautiful and other times so horrible.

Sinome, a dual comarison here: city rain /forest rain; and sound of rain to symphony. But there seems to be something else lurking here. Like maybe the city/hard, forest/soft describes the difference in people and attitudes. How do we respond to others? Do we listen, or wait patiently to respond? Do we stuff it, then lash out at innocent bystanders, or do we assert ourselves regularly for equal treatment for all? They say how we react to life's little bumps is the big thing.
Am I soft or hard? Do I react or overreact? Am I tolerant of others, or too impatient?
Very interesting poem.

Sinome, I find rain in the city be be very depressing most of the time,
but in the country it can brighten things up by washing them clean..

rain
This was a very thoughtful and enlightening contrast. You made me think of rain in ways I hadn't thought of before - and that's one of poetry's best gifts. I loved it!

Oh, my! Wonderful.
I have a tendency to embrace the rain no matter where it is.
I seldom ever cover my head, or run through it to get away.

But rain in the city is always more...
civilized I guess would be the word. By the way, "torrential" is the English word, but perhaps you were making reference to the Latin American rainforests?

Simone
I know Simone it's sort of a common rain in the town swilling cigarette ends down the gutter. Rain that makes one happy falls on greenery. Why am I telling you this, you just explained it so nicely. Don't forget your umbrella
