You can never go home again
but is nice that you can do the job and know you aren't really attached to the everyday politics. I hope you have a wonderful vacation.

On TV? Good for her! As for your replacement duty, it will only serve to confirm your conviction that you made the right choice!

At least when the pettiness and backbiting gets bad
you can sit back and think "I don't have to be a part of this any more" and I bet you'll smile if you do

Focusing on the task at hand in spite of all of the pettiness is the way to go...A nice September vacation will do you a lot of good as well, I feel.

I think it is wise to take a break! As long as it's planned for there shouldn't be a problem keeping your head above water! I am a firm believer in taking quality breaks! How cool for Susan, too! sam

I hear you on the stress
but since mine is financial -- divorce is a huge expense -- not bringing in an income or bringing less of it only adds to the stress. Hence, I am more tired when I take time off because I know it is not helping.

You will be enjoying your return to peace and quiet in a few days
and have a paycheck for the challenge. Doesn't sound like a bad deal!
