I've interpreted your dream, Jemm-
Hey there! Okay, first of all, why didn't you privately email me about your dream? You know I interpret dreams as part of my services, didn't ya? Well, here's what I gathered...you must put the pieces together, though.
K, the woods represent life, fertility, rejuvenation and spring; the unknown & unconscious, and possibly the discovery of instinctual nature. (This may have something to do with the satisfaction with your new job and that you were so worried about finding a job that you'd feel comfortable with)
To see rough stones in your dream, represents your quest in recognizing and developing your self-identity. Part of this quest is to become aware of your unconscious and suppressed thoughts. (Good vs. Evil; could be within your own mind) The magical part of it... I believe is your inner strength and power. Since you were on the "good side" I feel it was your subconscious mind telling you you're on the "right side" and on a path to better yourself and since the dream didn't end per se, tells you that you make your own destiny. (God gave us free will) but we also have our spirit guide that have their own unique ways of telling us to keep going in a certain direction.
Stop questioning yourself. Trust these dreams. Dreams are meant to help us solve our problems from our conscious life by inputting helpful information into our subconscious mind as we sleep; whether we remember our dreams or not, it works. Let me know! Glad your new job is going well!! :)

Perhaps a short story--though my writing strength is in non-fiction. Or perhaps it's just something I am to ponder.

Nope. I didn't recognize any of the others. In fact, the person who I knew to be me didn't look a thing like me.
As for the stone, I believe it was a light blue in color and it glowed beautifully when it was being used.

Fascinating...
...imagery here. Did you recognise any of the others?
What colour was the stone?
