The hilarious thing is, I went to the booksigning and he was positively lovely to me, and we had a laugh, so much so that he was still talking to me when I was walking away. Pretty bizarre turn of events.

Pat_B you can get poitin shipped her otherwise I'd be s.o.l.
I'm not joking, my mother used to make a hot punch out of it with sugar and a slice of lemon if we had it (they were exotic in Ireland in '79) and she'd stud the lemon with cloves. I thought it was magical, of course I friggin' did, I WAS FOUR!!!! Of course, it did make me sleep comfortably for the night, and was at least something in the absence of any sort of major OTC pediatric meds (they came in the mid to late '80's).

Where can you get that touch o' poison here in the U.S.? Or can you?
Although come to think of it, I haven't even tried our version of white lightning. Wildest experiment I ever did, was a glass of Ponce's home made Italian red. Great with spaghetti.
