How wonderful that somebody remembers the good kind of blackberry. Sadly the bushes have mostly been destroyed here in favour of privet hedges....

I, too, thought you were talking about the Blackberry phone. It's so strange to think that in just a few years the meaning of many words have been altered so much. I'm glad you were writing about the edible kind of berry; I love them and used to pick them, when I was a little girl, in my back yard. Brings back lots of great memories.....Mal

Enjoyed a second read too (after blogger!). Thanks for your supportive note; yes, do keep praying for Ashish. The break-in here has led to all the doors being damaged, so trying to salvage them before leaving for Bangalore next week.

Sounds like a lot of fun and coming from someone across the pond a unique way to spend some time together.

Takes me back to Scotland...
...when we'd stop by the roadside, picking wild blackberries...nothing ever tasted so good!

I love the Broads
and get up there when I can. I particularly love all of the old mills. Blackberry-picking is something I remember doing as a child. I've passed a few bushes around here recently - must go and have a look tomorrow!

Well R.R. I was only thinking this Summer how nice it would be to have blackberries and I looked along one side of my garden that was Ivy devastated, the owner used weed killer which I don't like. This year blackberry plants colonized it and succulent berries hang over a wire fence, it would have been wonderful but the thought of that weedkiller destroyed any prospect of a harvest. So I have bought have a dozen thornless plants one has to be careful because they are sometimes advertised as not thornfree as apposed to thornless.
