I read this somewhere Nita, indeed sometimes we are so much in a rush to appreciate anything of value. Hope you are fine and Ashish too.

I always remember..
my friends who used to play music at public places told me, "If you like it, enjoy it.. then, show your appreciation by giving some money. Every musicians loves to know that their music is enjoyed by the listeners, but it's the money that can keep musicians making music."
From that time, I always take time to smile or give a thumb up to street musicians when they play the music I like, and give money in appreciation. I also give more when they play/sing well and in their own style..

That was a very interesting read. It reminded me of musicians that often play in our Plaza Area and the ones I saw in places in Paris and Madrid. I wonder if I would have stopped and listened to Mr. Bell.

This is really interesting, Nita. I'm sure I wouldn't be able to distinguish great music from fairly good music, but how brilliant to listen to it and how sad no one really bothered.

A really thought-provoking post
It reminded me of when Paul McCartney performed in disguise as a busker outside Leicester Square underground station a few years ago.

this gave me goosbumps as I can appreciate the importance
of
1. stop and smell the roses, cause i missed so many beautiful roses as I rushed about like a dog chasing its tail
2. opportunity knocks, are you going to answer, this was a great opportunity to listen to something so beautifull, but who is going to take the time to take advantage of the opportunity. This is something I am experiencing now with my sweat and tears as I am in the prcocess of introducing one of the great discoveries of our time, and few stop and listen, some grabe the opportunity to be part of something so great , but most, just dont have time to stop and explore the potential , very good forward:)

I think if everyone had known who he was those who couldn't afford $100 a ticket would have been a bit more interested. But it is true that taking time to listen to something or look at something beautiful can often be over looked in the hustle and bustle of life and it is very sad.

Nita
Good question(s) - I think we all tend to miss the beauty of the moment be it a world famous violinist or a simple sound of nature.

I do hope that I would have stopped, but I can't be certain that I would, which is a shame

WOW! It is a great reminder that we move too fast in our daily lives! I thought it was quite interesting that the children tried to stop to listen! they are more in tune with their surroundings than we give them credit for! An excellent post for it reminds me to take in the bigger picture, too! Shelly

Nita, that is truly amazing and leaves me wondering,
what would I have done? Would I have stopped for even a few minutes?...wow, it really makes one stop and think.
