malcolm, I love your approach to your novel.....
thinking of it as a client needing attention rather than a nuisance needing attention is a great idea...(I have another story brewing but will keep it in "paper mode" until our computer mess sorts itself out)..

While there needs to be some kind of discipline to get the important things done, don't let your inner critic be too harsh with you about missing some time, for a while other needs were greater, now oyu have the time you are able to return to the book having been restored and recharged by your time away

Good luck with the novel...it is sure to turn out great, even if it's slow and steady progress, so don't get stressed! Thanks for your visit.

If I had written my novel all the way through back in the late 1980's when I wrote the first chapter, it would have been a classic by now--perhaps. LOL

I've let a lot of difficult parts to write delay or stop my writing all together. Like you I realized that I was the one making it an obstacle...

Malcolm
I admire you my friend, I wouldn't have the skill or discipline to create a novel. Good of you and Susan to take care of mum's finances too. I used to worry about that after my wife died and I was alone. I asked my kids and none of them wanted to be involved. Weird eh? Well thankfully Kabu and I fell in love so it's simple now, she will get whatever. I always told the kids I'd never leave anything to fight over anyway and besides I'm leaving them what my dad left me, love and a prayer.

Congratulations Malcolm and do keep at it! Vyktor's story is frustrating me quite a lot at the moment, but it will pass. Bless you for helping Susan's Mum.

Well last things first Malcom try and hold control of your mother in laws finances. The sad fact of life is money does change characters. I know this personally. I have also seem older people unwittingly giving away money they may need. Well I once wrote a book Malcom I did it mainly for company when I was in difficult circumstances. I really got to know the characters, I suppose a lot of them were based on acquaintances. I used to write something every day, I think as you say regard it as a part of your work. You may not make a fortune from it, you are not a prime minister I suspect, but I am sure it will be a pleasurable task eventually.

I am glad you are getting back to the novel. You appear to manage so joyously time for everyone and everything. Be blessed and it is a good thing you are doing for your mother in law.
