Shelly in this case YES! I tend to be careless with smoke detectors...tonight I realized exactly WHY that is a bad idea.
Had I gone to bed as planned, had my brother been later than he was (which on weekends is always possible) and had I left that light on as I had planned to so he wouldn't be stumbling in the dark, this night might have turned out quite differently. Seems God does protect fools in my case.

Hmmm, good point
ours is off of the wall lying on the floor..not sure if the batteries work. Do I need to do EVERYTHING around the house????
