Great pictures as always. And this is the time of year when I often make miso soup, which is excellent on a chilly day. The other thing I like about it is that it's quick, even though I make it from scratch, of course...

What I have experienced in Japanese cuisine probably does not compare to your nabes. All the same, I was delightfully surprised how I took to miso soup at a breakfast buffet during a Hawaiian vacation.

I have never lived near a mountain so I find scenes with mountains fascinating. Must be wonderful to wake up to a mountain view each morning.

The nabe sounds like something I've eaten called Mongolian Hotpot where you sit around a pot of near-boiling bouillon in which you cook thin slivers of meat, fish and vegetables. Delicious!
