Seeing the meaning of words as they are spoken.
The posts on this topic do surprise me.
For myself, whenever I hear a word, I feel it's best to wait until I hear it in a sentence before deciding what the word means.
I know that a word in itself has no meaning at all.
The only way a word has any meaning is in relationship with other words.

Say the word ink and you think of...
I loved ink pens years ago and got several to write with but then I learnt some calligraphy as well and so I enjoyed the effect it had on the page with the writing and the ink.
