Once long ago, before Kate, I was much like that person. Nearly invisible and yet a nuisance planted in the corners of the eyes of those who wanted to pretend I didn't exist; but rather I was the sum of their hidden fears that they wished would just go away. There are legions of the near-invisible on infinite corners, their eyes blank, minds turned inward remembering a happier time.
