I love the butcher, too! We don't have one as special as yours, but I go to the butcher at the grocery store and taught my kids to shop that way, too! It was reminiscent to read of Claire's last dance class of the year! We tend to forget about those things as our children get older! It must be nice to be down to purchasing the last gift! I am close but don't have your bragging rights as yet! lol sam

One gets that kind of service from little shops, especially in small villages. I do most of my shopping in places like that. Doggies and I are staying warm with the fireplaces...love the winter!

Malcolm

We have a German shop like that here but 'Willy' spends more time in the back preparing the meat so I don't see him at the front counter anymore. Have a happy weekend my friend.

Wonderful it is to read about a butcher like that being in business. Everything's so corporate now.

The thing about a butcher shop where they cut what you want
after you get there, the meat tastes right.

the big chain stores hardly ever by good meat or have fresh fruit and
vegies, in fact here I buy frozen vegies because they are snap frozen fresh. I too miss the Butcher and the fruitologist.

malcolm, isn't it sad but true....
Its a shame there aren't more men like Peter the butcher around...nowadays it seems there are more people who act like their doing you a huge favour by waiting on you, especially in the impersonal mall shops...not saying they're all like that, but too many have no idea what customer service and customer service relations are all about..

Still one or two around Malcolm, I wonder who will take his place when he retires. Sounds like a lovely village most of the village people I meet sometimes, say their village has been replaced by holiday home folk. I am glad that you deal with the local trade.

I love people like your Peter the butcher. They gifts far greater than what they realise. I wish for you and your family a weekend filled with peace and blessings.
