mum, I think that it started with the death of the Ten Commandments.

Not that I think that religion is a cure all. BUT, the Ten Commandments of Human Decency, they might be renamed. God or no god, the behavior of empathy and kindness and understanding and tolerance and all that are encompassed in that short list of good behaviors and no one is teaching them to all of the poeple who have no church, temple, synagogue, etc. to attend and learn them inside of....

.what? She wrote to the Editor....You know what I mean. It's late and I'm beyond over tired. Beddie bye time.

I don't blame psychology nor psychiatry, but blame a lack of parental guidance toward human decency. Teachers and school principals are running scared, afraid of uncontrolled parents and school boards and so, they fail to teach these things in school, where it was all reinforced in my childhood.

Great post
Edit, and made lots of sense to me. I have been sober in AA for 35 years now, but do not totally accept the "illness" concept at all. It took me rather a longish time to discover that alcohol made me "bad" if you will, but once having focussed on that fact that alcohol was not created for ME, I was able, with AA as a support, to stop the bad and practice the good that was inherent in my personality wihout booze. As for capital punishment, well, that stops us from finding the answers to some important questions. I mean, live specimens are far better than dead ones. Also, I do believe we are all connected, whether we like it or not, and the killing of one human being by another is unjustified under ANY circumstances. After all, if we kill in the name of law, whose law? The killer's law, we are the same, no different, just, law abiding.(sic) Anyhow, not an argument Edit, just my point of view, I love your blogs!!
