The poor little hero was brave to the end on the fiend. I would like to leave a tribute to him. My blood boils to hear how he treated the brave little boy. I think you were right to get away from him whenever you could and find a better way of life. Too bad he turned you against marriage, but some marriages are not real anyway;I view such people as false and such marriages as pretenses.

He us such an ogre! What a control freak! He seems to me to be a person who is all show in faith but lacks substance or he would have been better to everyone! He just disgusts me to no end! sam

Tzippy... I just love the way you write as if you were still that child... Your memories are so clear, so strong... every detail, every nuance of tone and gesture. That subconscious of yours is truly the writer of this tale, and your conscious seems to be going along as a willing passenger on that therapeutic trip. i can not begin to imagine what you went through, though I am afraid that I have known several "Tzippys" growing up. Girls that came to play with their long sleeves and black socks in the middle of summer... The difference from me and Barbara I guess is that I did not ask why because I knew, from spending time at my grandparents, that was the way they dressed and I would not have ironed in front of them :-) . I guess looking back I was kind of grateful I did not have to do anything when they came and I still could dress according to what I liked. But want to know something? Now as an adult sometimes I do envy some of them, because they have an unwavering believe in something, true that it is thanks to that brainwashing I guess, but they do. They do not question their set rules and they seem happy, given it is in their own unimaginative way, but they are peaceful and sure of everything :-) me? I am a mess of doubts and live afraid to make mistakes loll. YOu are amazing and a great writer. xoxoxo

You mention your mother's weakness - and yes, it is astonshing! But I find little Oriel amazing - he's constantly being maltreated by that s.o.b., and yet it seems he remains not only defiant but even cheerful...
