Communication
Communication
"I've heard that communication is to the spirit what food is for the body."
Nice. I like this.
"It seems to me, however, an inescapable conclusion that all three in balance--a balance that shifts with needs and demands of the world around--are the shape of true and full communication. This applies whether we are trying to understand ourselves, or another person. It is what we must pay attention to, to understand, and share, to be understood."
Well stated!
I am reminded of the renewal weding vows I wrote for my 25th weding anniversary. I based them on aspects of communication.
25 th anniversary wedding renewal vows
We pledge:
To share values and goals;
To express clearly our needs to each other;
To be sensitive to each other's feelings;
To never let our differences divide us;
To anticipate each other's needs;
To accept each other wholly in love and honor;
To never judge or condemn each other;
To desire each other's happiness;
To always be open, honest, and faithful to each other;
To let kindness and gentleness direct our relations;
To enjoy life together.

Everything we don't do communicates, as well.

Communication is one of those great gifts we do not truely appreciate until it is lost from us. Great post.
