If I heard only the sounds of silence, how would I feel?
This actually happened to me for a few minutes.
I walked home from work. On the way, I stopped at a Publix Supermarket.
Just as I entered the store, I suddenly realized that I was hearing nothing at all.
It was weird. It was quite interesting. I did not worry about not being able to hear again. I only marveled at how it felt to not be able to hear anything at all.
Fortunately for me, my hearing returned a few minutes later.

I agree with CHIFFCHAFF. Those born deaf seem to deal well with it, but to suddenly lose hearing would be traumatic. I would miss music the most.

Well Ms Straightforward I think you should have told us how you would feel. If anyone is stone deaf I suppose they have to put up with. To be suddenly stricken would be quite a traumatic experience apart from being run over soundlessly, so many noises we hear we probably ignore so I think I would feel isolated.
