Go to Malcolm's midwife: Words from the heart

- Go to Karen Carpenter will always be a superstar to me
I am so sorry. I loved the Carpenters too. But this little girl I do hope will get help. That is sad. It is as or perhaps more dangerous than drugs if such can be. I love yours and your wifes compassion and concern for the students. Be blessed.

Malcolm
I am sorry for that young girl and my heart goes out to her. That is a sad situation and I saw it up close and personal with the fact I had one of my step-daughters affected with that. She is an adult now and we did get her professional help and she managed to get a grip on life.

You are a compassionate & sensitive man, Malcolm. Wonderful qualities
Karen Carpenter put a face to a disorder that has caused much suffering to many women. Some men have also experienced it. Anorexia & bulimia are still taking lives & the more people who are aware of & have a good understanding about them, the better able we are to fight & eventually, completely eradicate them.

Dear Malcolm: I've been gone a bit and came on to read this. God bless this Child whom suffers. I know of this disease - I have seen the documentary as such on Karen Carpenter...I have seen many suffer from eating disorders - and yes, it's serious. I pray for this child and dear Sir, dear gentle thoughtful Malcolm... thank you for your thoughts and your compassion - Elyse

I saw the film once ..it was run on television in Australia
I loved the carpenters and Karen's Voice actually was the Carpenters for me. That and their beautiful music.
The parentsa didn't seem to have any idea how famous their kids were or how to deal with it but if I remember they loved the money involved.
I do believe though that her death did bring this killer disease to the forefront and I am sure that many people are alive and well today because of Karen Carpenter. Now where is my tissue......

Karen Carpenter's death was not in vain
It brought attention to anorexia and probably saved many other lives

Amazing what potent triggers there are in the everyday...
At least the new story seems a hopeful one. The parents took the hint and sought help. You're right about Karen Carpenter -- she was brilliant!
