As a kid I was always amazed Groucho could chew his cigars so vigorously and not bite them in half and swallow them..

malcolm, indeed they were witty...

I can remember their tv program with Groucho always chomping on a cigar...and there was no colour yet....(man, am I dating myself..

My two favs are Fred Allen and old Groucho, too...I can picture Groucho chewing on a cigar making a comment like this one..

I use a line somewhat similar with people who get under my skin (usually ih a humorous way, but not always): "Why don't you take a long walk off a short pier.".
