Re:
UtahJay, I've never used wild cherries in a pie. I guess I don't have your mother's willingness to seed so many of the tiny things.

T For myself my father had a cherry tree. He chopped it down himself. Lily Thomas in the Townee Affair ‘s (inspired a character) older sister baked a cherry pie. My father and I took a walk to the raspberry patch. We picked black raspberries. Bill’s RJLst

I love cherries and evidently eating cherries fresh dried or from the jar,
helps prevent kidney stones.

Re: Re: Re: reasons
TAPS, if that happened here, I'd be tempted to chain myself to a tree so they would not dare cut is down.

Re: Re: reasons
I haven't gone yet. I don't much like to shop so I'm making a list and checking it twice and then I'll get out and get things. Actually, I was going to go shopping today but then the workers started cutting down my tree and it ruined my plans for the day because I had to keep track of what they were doing. LOL

I hope you enjoy the trip for wild blueberries, it reminded me of going picking with my aunt when I was a kid! sam

Re:
TAPS, wild cherries have more vitamin C than oranges. (btw, did you find Cascade Fresh yogurt at that nearby store? Since my food club order failed to show, I had to settle for Yoplait available locally - ugh! - not nearly as good.)

Re:
Justi, it was an easy job today picking cherries from low branches. Blueberries - another story; bending over's a little hard on the back but worth it.
