ACH, Bill, I do not have lung cancer!! That would terrify me to the point of total silence, I do believe. I have dysfunctional lungs due to years of untreated and chronic asthma. Thank you for visiting.

I thought this was rather poignant and it could represent a variety of situations, but it was meaningful for the reader for it was easy to identify with the imagery! Also, I did not understand what you were trying to convey with the contraction! I had not seen it this way before so I am sorry I was just lost! I was thinking ever, then the e'er would be used, but nothing came to me on every, to understand ever'y! sam
