- Go to Reuters columnist claims Romney's tax plan would increase U.S. deficit.

Yes it would be nice, unlike 2008, to have a candidate fully vetted for a change.

Re: Reasons
Wiley, yes. It is within Newt's desire to focus on issues rather than personal destruction.

Krisles, Reuters is one of the more respected Media. The columnists who
provided their opinions were experts in their fields. ...(this a.m. I tried to return to their reports to provide you with more information. Nowever Reuters had moved on to other news and opinions.)

Just curious.....were this columnist's facts , on either story, verified? I mean, I just get alarmed when I see "so and so said this and that" and then everyone just piling on. No offense....like I said, I'd just rather see a little more substantive statement somewhere, that tells me he had real facts......I guess I've just gotten so cynical about "columnists" of any political persuasion. I am reminded of a round of the old game of "gossip" from grade school getting started..... (BTW, I am going to be voting for the Republican candidate but have yet to determine which one I hope that will be.)

In this country (Canada) you'd be a New Democrat. You ask about the difference between the New Democrats and the Used Democrats? Sorry, couldn't tell you! Maybe the new ones are slightly less worn...

I wish I could say I was surprised by the last part but it feels like business as usual! How utterly sad that the pensions went by the wayside! I think this is an eye opener in and of itself! The voters need to be very cautious! sam

FSI, hope there are enough 'not keen on him' to lower his poll numbers

Re: Who would want to run for public office I mean everyone has
Kabu, Romney is more interested in power; his policies are similar to Obama's. On the other hand Gingrich wants to save the U.S. from Obama destruction.

Rumor, I feel the same way about Romney , &, yes, much of what's reported is related to the election, yet; we do need to know as much as possible about a candidate's background & experience when deciding our votes, then hope that finally, we'll select the best U.S. leader.

Who would want to run for public office I mean everyone has
something in their past and has prejudices and are full of human frailties. Imagine having it plasted all over the World news. Power must be an amazing drug!!!

Now all the big guns will be trained on him and Rick Santorum, some no doubt rightly so, but other that will leave us all still wondering what a lot of it has to do with the election..
