Re:
Well Jay, I'm sorry you took offense at a post that was a tongue-in-cheek, trying to be humorous angle on politics and religion. I was thinking about the hysteria in some quarters when Obama was elected concerning his supposed Muslim faith and how he would impose it on all Americans. What nonsense - I love fashion and clothes and could never make do with a burka and most women I know feel the same..:) I referenced points that I've read and heard about Mormonism not to upset anyone, just was following the same goofy vein/assumptions far right Christians took in response to BO. Btw, I don't "have" a religion.

If you do not know your history, maybe you should read more, before you post...Name any other religion that believes all good people go to heaven, and not just the fallowers of their faith.

Every one likes to talk of the folks the Mormons killed forgetting the thousands of Mormons that were killed, the extermination order in Missouri that only came off the books in the 1980's and the 1300 mile march they were forced to take or all die to come to a land that no one else would want just to survive. Not to mention that an army of the United States was sent to Salt Lake city to kill every Mormon man women and child and as for being close to the Koran I have never heard of so much bullshit...out and out lies.

We do not worship Joseph Smith and we do not believe believe in plural marriages, as a matter of fact, we are excommunicated for having so much as a hint of an affair. I do not understand why it seems OK to attack my religion while yours is so perfect...Right?

Hi Penni
Welcome to Blogit. As a Canadian I have no say in the outcome anyway, LOL. But I do have a certain interest in having the GOP candidate win the election in November, for all kinds of complicated reasons that many here are already familiar with, but which would be a bore to get into right now...

Oh it just hit me that didn’t Mormons own Marriot
They owned fast food restaurants. But you hear of restriction threats on silly things like ketchup. However I don’t think they came from Mormon. For myself political humor’s alright. And there is what writers call black comedy about seriuous issues. Some special interest groups do challenge some humor that’s not politically correct. I hope your humor blog goes well. Good luck. For myself it was an enjoyable experience. Enjoy this site love. Bill’s R{{st YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

sam444, Thank you!
I don't have much of an opinion about the candidates or parties, other than finding their pretensions and the affect they have on people funny...:) I remember the lather many folks got into when Obama was elected; they believed he was a closet Muslim and would have every woman in a burka.
Thank you for reading! I hope this reply goes through, still figuring out the site.

Welcome to Blogit! The 'true' Mormons haven't practiced polygamy for over 100 years, it is the off shoots that do! One thing I found rather odd is that the 'gayest' city in this country is Salt Lake City! lol I came across that on MSN news! I live among the Mormons and I would not fear them trying to be so radical as to change things to be the way they believe but I would be more fearful of them increasing their wealth at the expense of the general population. They take care of themselves first and they have a peculiar honor code! I did notice that Romney doesn't abide by the white shirt only that is very common among businessmen in their faith! They believe in Jesus but no doubt that Smith is a revered leader, some have even gone on to say that he is the new era prophet! The one thing that is striking is that he is closely associated with the Koran, and if Muslims come out in droves to push for him to be elected you can kiss this country good-bye! They use 4 different books in their religion, one being the Book of Mormon, the Holy Bible (but they have their own version that follows the translation of the KJV, but they have their own footnotes), another is Doctrine and Covenants and finally the Pearl of Great Price, but Smith and his followers killed many, many innocent people, most notably the wagon train headed to the west coast near St. Geroge, Utah, a horrible massacre of innocent people! His training in Mormonism scares me to no end!
I personally find it to be frightening; and I could never in clear conscience vote for Romney! My comment is simply my humble opinion and what I have come across while trying to understand the people I live around! Have a great day, too! sam
