Re: Jimmy
Yes . . . that's the key: "Devoid of common sense." If you have to be told to open the bag of peanuts, then eat them, we're in bigger trouble than I ever imagined!

LOL! I think most companies put this stuff on their packages on the advice of their lawyers. The lawyers, in turn, have a pretty good idea what kinds of decisions courts have come up with in litigation, and courts, in your country and here in Canada, have often arrived at decisions completely devoid of common sense...

Well, to be fair(?) they're in two languages down here too ( English & Spanish ). Doesn't matter. Most seem unnecessary anyway! Bonsoir!

Re: JimmyA
Well, when I started this piece with "Are people really this dumb?" I was hoping to be somewhat rhetorical. But unfortunately, yes, not only are there large groups of people out there "working hard at destruction" of common sense scenarios, there's apparently even larger groups out there made up of simply dumb people! Let's be thankful we're not in either group!

Re:
That's true. I know these warnings are nothing more than "common sense" connotations, but the manufacturers must put them there for that one idiot who misuses a product, or for someone looking to make a buck in a lawsuit by exclaiming "Well, you didn't warn me not to do that!" It's really a shame.

Some are really that dumb. They try to show their smartness by watching every thing they see and hear in a hawk like manner to catch anyone/anything wrong. Knowing this, companies and individuals must spell out everything literally or these dummies will own everything!! They are everywhere wreaking havoc on smart people who produce. While smart people are working, these dummies work hard at destruction by countering every thing.
