No Vacation
Unfortunately, in the northeast there was one major storm which was in October we had a nor'easter, and then back in September there was the oversize tropical storm Irene. As a result the kids lost a week of vacation. At this point they could care less about snow. They don't want to lose anymore days.

I am also an Orioles fan, and a red sox fan because of past players. You put your life on paper well...A good read.

We have had no snow here at all so far this school year, so the students have had no snow days. But, because of a lot of flu cases, at least one school closed down for a sanitizing day. While the kids were out, the whole school (everything) was disinfected with antibacterial cleaners.

I love having the Orioles around! That way the Jays will never be in last place...

FSI, we could just as easily be watching Baltimore playing San Fran
in the big game tomorrow, but for a few inerrant plays (and certainly none were Flacco's fault)...Tiger fans are tripping out already with the signing of the "Prince"..if he's as good as his daddy was, it could be a fun season..

We have had a mild winter, too! As far as Flacco is concerned, he out played Brady! The ability of the quarterback to be successful is determined by the protection he gets. If Flacco is given enough time to pass he is as good as any QB out there in my opinion! Happy belated birthday to Brain, too!
When I was reading the part on the Orioles, I was thinking the same as you wrote! The minor league has to be strong for the big league team to be strong! I personally blame those who are responsible for sizing up the talent before the draft occurs! The Tigers are rated 24th and the Orioles 25th (this is crazy because in 2010 they were 6th; I didn't check but perhaps they brought a bunch of them up to the 'Bigs'), so both teams have work to do to improve their systems. The ratings were from 2011~ My brother is a Cubs fan and that is the first thing they are trying to accomplish with Epstein at the helm, develop the minor league system! I thought the O's were getting close because they fielded a young team but it sure seemed to me there were a lot of good, young players! Who knows what the season may bring! sam
