seniors are all right if they agree with me
i'm a senior too you know
just don't feel like one
sometimes i think i would like to be out on thestreetsin the middle of a real revolution
but then again
revolutions are easily quashed in our "Land of the Free" -- there really is no room for argument here, whether local or national -- there is some way to suppress true free speech and action

'Mental health outpatients' is a bit harsh about a serious problem, especially when I was in psychotherapy for over 30 years. LOL Welcome back too.

I never had much to do with the religious loonies, so I don't know what happened to them. There may be a few non-religious loonies left (I know of at least one!) but they don't bother me. They don't drop in to read my posts, or maybe they do, but they don't leave comments...So generally it's very quiet around here...

reading back over the comments on this post today has kept me
entertained for quite some time.
I think it is a wonderful forum if it can allow people to express themselves without being offensive or being treated like a pariah for believing differently to their neighbour. I personally have learned heaps being here and having you back is great...do bring back the furry little blogits!!!!

Re: gomedome
What a Baba Yaga I am. Even though I was rather in a bad mood today and the chicken legs kept running off with my house and my mortar refused to take off so I could sweep away my tracks, I knew down deep it was not fair for me to take it out on you. I admit it--there are religious "loonies around". I don't know any personally, but I have my doubts about Rush. I will try to come visit your blog posts only when I am having a great sense of humor day in the future.

TAPS. - I'm sorry you feel that way
At least in thinking that you could be considered a religious loony by some, I certainly don't think that of you. The handful of people I am describing (many I am sure you would remember) warrant being referred to as loonies by virtue of their insane actions and words. At least 2 that I know of were in fact mental health out patients, so is the term "religious loonies" unfair? Maybe a little crass considering their plight but from my perspective I feel I am being gracious by dismissing their actions against me with a fairly harmless and ambiguous term.

I think I must be getting old, or maybe just reverting to my childhood and the teachings of my Dad. I am noticing more and more that the things people say sometimes really turn me off and make me go away and play where things are pretty and breezy. I was really turned off a bit ago when someone, in a comment to a post, called President Obama a worm. I was raised to have respect for the position of our leaders if nothing else. I was also raised to not call people names. To be honest, this "loonies" thing bothers me a bit. It wouldn't surprise me (or overly concern me) if I were considered a religious loony by some, but it would propel me in another direction for a time. See you later alligator.

TAPS. - I don't think I would ever discuss religion in a open public forum
One of the things that Blogit provides with its private membership format is very good forum moderation, a necessity when the loonies get stoked a bit.

Xeno-x - Re: welllll . . . .
I am hesitant to discuss some subjects on this forum now. Blogit is much more of a small community of friends than it ever was in the past. I'm not about to begin posting bible passages as many are doing so I will have to give it more thought on where I am going with this blog.

They have gone to Facebook.
I started to refer you to a couple and then decided maybe I'd better not. They might not know what to do with the likes of you and your clever comebacks.

welllll . . . .
just post your own views -- I am sure someone will comment.
It would be good reading something more attuned to a certain modicum of rationality.

sam444 - or their day passes have all expired
My favorite is still the guy who asked me for advice in attracting women (as if I could possibly offer anything useful on that subject) and in particular how he could get one of the girls at his church to notice him. I did my best, suggesting personal hygiene was paramount, as were good manners etc.
Then he asked me: "What should I do about the restraining order she has against me?"
