Re:
Absolutely, Sam. Like I said, I guess some people will do almost anything to entertain themselves! I would still like to know what the "prize" is for winning those races! Or maybe we don't want to know!

Re:
Well, Utah, I guess out-of-town onions are still worthy of celebration too! Are the "onion days" followed by the "bad breath days?"

Re:
Which ones in particular, FSI? I surely hope it's not the leisure suit convention or the hollerin' contests! Or do you have some prized rats to show off?

Re:
Thanks, Bright. Like I wrote, I have no idea how many of these things are still active, but I would also like to know who came up with some of these events!

Re: One usually dashes too the Port-a-potty...not run a way with it!!!
Hey, Kabu, as long as one "makes it!" I wouldn't want to chase after a port-a-john either!

Re: JimmyA
You're asking the wrong person, Wiley. I just wrote it as I read it! I was somewhat confused by that too!

We have something called onion days at a town just south of us. Funny thing is that no one grows onions there anymore, but they still celebrate.

The outhous run and St Patricks Day parade were my favorites but everyone holds importance to someone. A really fun read!

Great Klondike Outhouse Race ( September ) - Outhouses on wheels race along a 1.5 mile course through the streets of Dawson City, Yukon. Contestants who are unable to bring their outhouses may rent them. [ Well, that’s very sporting of them. I guess it gives a whole new meaning to port(able)-a-John! ]
When did Dawson City, Yukon become a State.?
