Re:
I can see that, tamijo. Unfortunately, my wife and I have no children ( and therefor no grandchildren ) so I can't relate directly to that feeling. However, I'm sure that having my wife's arms thrown around my neck invokes a similar warm, happy feeling, so at least in that we're simpatico. Thanks for responding.

My guilty pleasure is letting the housework go and spending the day crafting. But my simple pleasure is even better - just feeling the little arms of my grandchildren around my neck can make any day better.

Hey, lovelylady, my wife and I love M&M's too! The peanut and peanut butter ones are excellent, but my wife actually prefers the dark chocolate M&M's. Oh, and have you tried the coconut ones yet, or are you not a fan of coconut? Yes, a very nice and very simple pleasure!

They all sound wonderful too, Amanda. And it seems as though you can even combine a few ( watching the History channel while eating ice cream covered with chocolate! ) Mmmmm . . . !

Re: Really Old Comic Books. Yes...comic books.
Amazingly, Neo, I can actually relate to that as well! I'm an old-time comic book geek too ( no offense meant ). I read and collected comics during the '70's, but finally had to stop when a few of the storylines started to get just a little ridiculous. I did however continue to collect the Dr. Strange comics ( my favorite character ) for a spell because they were the best written and most interesting to me, and had the closest similarities to some of the science-fiction novels I was also reading. I'm sure picking up and reading one of those comics from yesteryear would be a simple pleasure, but one I haven't done in quite some time. Long Live the Sorcerer Supreme!

Re:
Yeah, FSI, I know that feeling as well. Like when you're having a sub-par day, and then you hear a great old classic that you haven't heard in a really long time! That can do it too!

Is that all it takes, C C T? Just a bit of chocolate? That is a simple pleasure, and a good one ( I love chocolate too! ).

Re: JimmyA
Ah, Wiley, then you get the best of both worlds . . . the pleasure of baking the bread itself ( and its special reward ) and the pleasure of enjoying the aroma long afterward. I would love to sample some of your "delicious" homemade bread, and prove Kabu right!

Re: waking up each morning, both of us and knowing that we have been blesse
Yes, Kabu, that's probably the simplest of the simple pleasures . . . but the most rewarding. I too feel the same way with my wife by my side. And I know that many people can probably name more than one simple pleasure in their lives; I have others as well, besides the aroma of freshly baked bread. But like you, too may to name right now!

Really Old Comic Books. Yes...comic books.
Ah, I remember a time when DC and Marvel seemed as different as night from day, a time when a certain foursome were the most innovative heroes of the silver age. I recall a time when Spider-man was just becoming "amazing", a time when Gwen Stacy and Aunt May hadn't even died yet, much less returned from the grave! Reading old comics reminds me of a time when my parents were still alive, when I was just a boy, when the future was endless and everything seemed possible....
