I think that you are way better off with what you have. First the change of

number is a lot of work and it seems that if that has to happen then this is not going to be a good deal. Also it seems to me to be expensive and you are locked into it. I think walking away was a good solution, nothing to do with age.

Re:

I agree with all you said. One can always tell whem someone is texting in a car because they are usually driving slower or all over the road. Attention span is just not there!!

Life experience

tends to give you intuition that you didn't have when you were younger

No, it has nothing to do with your age. I think it's more on your logical sense. Because it happens to me all the time and I'm only 25.

It is amazing how integral they are to our lives now.

I don't want to go off on a tangent here but, regardless of the "pay method," this world would be a much better place if people only used their cell phones for emergencies. I've grown excessively tired of having to hear other people's conversations about their kids or their weekend plans or their new driveway or their mother-in-law's operation while I'm standing in line at a Dunkin Donuts or walking down a supermarket aisle. And when I drive, I used to only worry about people driving drunk. Now I have to be even more on guard for the idiots who text while driving. Cell phones . . . both the greatest and the worst invention ever!
