Rewrite of my first posted poem New Title "Lovesong for Scotland"
Thank you, Taps, so much for your response and for the rose
.
I enter a lot of daily contests and sometimes I get discouraged if I get no response at all, much less a win! But everytime I create another poem I feel I am a winner, just for trying. I remember now how difficult it must have been some days for my English students when they did not get a quick feedback to something they had attempted. And being younger, it must have been even more difficult for them to maintain a high level of interest if they were not being rewarded in some way.
Thanks again. Jacqueline

Re: A lovely poem with the ring of a ballad.! I had a cousin, Molly
Thank you for response. The pictures and gardens of Scotland look so beautiful in the pictures when I was researching to write the poem. Yes, am sure our pronunciation is very much 'off', especially with my southern drawl, to boot, lol. The best way to learn, of course, is to actually 'hear' someone say it in the native language. All the best to you...Jacqueline Casey

A lovely poem with the ring of a ballad.! I had a cousin, Molly
Wadsworth, who came from Edinburgh and taught me to love Bobby Burns and to pronounce her city properly!
