The poem is very good - the material used to write it (war) was, is, will be forever terrible. He was a dreamer but how wonderful it would be if his dream would come true.

How anyone in that city survived the bombings had to be a miracle.
A beautiful old city... the bombing completely unnecessary from a military standpoint.

It was a cruel war Bob. The Allis started the war bombing only military targets, but after the bombing of London tempers flared and rules and gallantry were lost. Stephen E. Ambrose has several day to day histories of the goings on behind the scenes...Very interesting stuff.

You know I have known war somewhere all my life Born at the end of
WW11 it has been horror after horror all my life and as far as I can see it will continue into my future.

i can believe that...i always enjoyed reading his books...i read my first one in high school and have been hooked ever since...maybe once i am all caught up i will go check one his books out to read
