Bunny has an idea about her friend
After reading the comments by Ren3 and BeachBelle, I thought of something: my friend generally has a vision or impression of me that isn't quite rooted in reality, or is rooted in the past.
For example, if we are clothes shopping, she'll say, "Oh, you're so thin you look good in anything." She says this even if a size twelve is stretched tight across my stomach so I look like I'm pregnant with twins. She says this even if I can't get a size "large" up over my hips. I used to be thin when I met her, but I now weigh 160 pounds. I may be cute and stylish, but I'm not thin! Nevertheless, that's the way she "sees" me.
Since I'm definitely a girly-girl, maybe she just "sees" me as someone who wears perfume, even though she's heard lots of evidence to the contrary. If she thinks of me as stylish, she "sees" me with a cute little clutch purse, although if she thought about it she'd remember that there are certain things I have to carry along with me (which means a bigger purse.)

Bunny
I was given the Coldplay DVD, and a Coldplay CD by my other half who took them out of the wrapping and played them before I ever had a chance. You know how people buy gifts for others that they want themselves. ...
Could your friend be doing that?

She is passive-agressively suggesting that you try NEW and DIFFERENT things.
