well my experience with laminate flooring is I would never do the dark wood again, it shows every mark and water spot that you get and its almost as hard as carpet to keep clean. I would go again with the Oak look.

I would not worry too much about anything Sam . Once you get in there you might change your mind due to the different environment the light might be different. Or you might feel carefree and lighten every thing up. Does it matter what colour the floor is if you are covering it with a carpet? Sorry a bit of a misery this morning, It is snowing and chilly sitting here trying to be witty.

I would go with Canadian maple - it'll remind you of your Canadian friends every time you look at it! And hey, treat the lull as the pause that refreshes! (I seem to recall that was an advertising slogan once, but I can't remember whose...

What's that old Carly Simon song? Anticipation . . . and the waiting's the hardest part! You're being very patient! And I think that, no matter what final decorating decisions you end up making, everything will look nice. Hope you have a wonderful evening as well!

hmnn warm but not too dark for it will show the dust...such decisions, they
are scary for once made one has to live with them. Myself I like Oak but that is just me.
