this story sounds familiar with me, I killed a printer (Lexmark or Brother) using the wrong ink. And the story of the lost email sounds familiar too.

Yes and be careful Sam some printers always seem to mess up the works > I have three of the same name one will take really good cheap inks, but the other two seem iffy.

Sorry you had to go through so much trouble, but I can actually explain what happened to your ink cartridge. First of all, the ink cartridge manufacturers install certain messages into the cartridge's electronics so that the next printer does not properly recognize the cartridge. That's because, as you've said, they want you to spend more money on an original as opposed to a refill. The second problem is, Walgreen's uses generic inks, as opposed to cartridge-specific inks. That will cause problems too!

Despite the hitches, the house deal is sounding better and better! Please do put the pictures of the dog or your son catching salmon on Blogit if you get a chance!! I would love to see it. And one of yourself, if you are ever inclined!!
