yes, i like to stay away from accidents and fires and let the emergency people have room to work. fires are scary to me, and you are right about how it affects individuals, some good and some bad, good post!!

It can be life altering or life changing; it's how we look at it! And your son looked at it the right way as far as I am concerned! sam

one has no choice ....going bankrupt losing everything....one has to
go on, have the appropraite up to date insurance...or walk away, start again. Lots of folk have to do that.

When you ask, "What if it were me?" I'm assuming you are referring to being the owner of a business that burns down, and all I can say is, I can't imagine being that person! Living here in New Jersey, I've been reading for the past three months about all of the various businesses along the shore that were damaged or destroyed because of Hurricane Sandy. Some are rebuilding. A few are relocating. And still others are writing off their businesses as "total losses," and are simply picking up their belongings and moving away! No, I simply cannot imagine owning a business that I would pour heart and soul into ( along with thousands of dollars ) and then losing it all in a fire ( or hurricane ). Terrible . . .
