Only if you truly understand what the concept behind Damocle's Sword was all about!

SO true, Troosha.
But I'm still wracking my brain for the WHY of it.

Could be, Wiley. I guess insomnia doesn't help either, although I am
used to that now. Your experiences were much worse than mine - we were in peace by the time I was old enough to be aware of anything.

It is weird that they show up after all has become calm though, Kabu.
Is that normal? There really wasn't anything I could put my finger on to explain it.

Thanks, Jimmy. That's usually how I handle such feelings - stay busy.
And if I'm going to have Damocles' sword, it would only be fair to give me at least the power too??

Happy you received it, Justi. Sent you a hug with that one!
I think it's the darned devil who creates those feelings.

Usually snow cheers me up, Naut, but you may be right.
Still, it did help some to walk outside with the doggies in said snow, so I don't know....

The truth, FSI? When I thought I would miss the game I went into panic mode
but neighbor saved the day by mentioning the dish outside, where I noticed the ice, and fixed the problem!

I know the feeling well (I wake up with a sense of doom more often than I care to admit) and the best defense IS to smile it away. No sense worrying about something that has not yet happened (or might not happen at all).

Hi young lady now you have given it to me, it is like a white ghostly apparition and I am wrestling with it. Perhaps if I push in the oven with some stale bread it will give a squeak and disappear.

Winter, snow, grey weather after the snow, some rain, and starting being self-employed after giving it up or closing it to do somethng for family. So you gave of yourself, your home, your time and worry, Son & wife, plus for your grandchildren. I won't even mention your doggies that you love and care for. Hey sis, I feel tired and depressed, and I'm content using medication for that purpose, so I'm familiar with depression. Blessings,

anxiety attacks can creep up on us love...and that is what they are..
all you have been through one could expect something to unsettle you or perhaps nothing real to unsettle you dear one. Just take care
if you need us.

I used to get those periods of dread - premonitions of lurking trouble.
Then I realized 99% of the time it amounted to nothing. And things I did worry about never happened. It was always something totally out of the blue that ended up causing a problem. How's that for a cheerful message?

I like how you are not going to allow it to have a life of its own! You will tend to it if it comes into view! The Wings lost a tough one in a shootout today! Two bad delay of game penalties in the last 3 minutes did them in! But, they did get a point! sam

And that's probably your best defense! Go onto other activities, do whatever you want to do, and ignore it! I think we all have somewhat of a Damocles Sword hanging over our heads from time to time. That doesn't mean it's ever going to fall!

I wonder what is causing that uptightness...I can't imagine how it would feel to run the risk of not being able to see the hockey game.
