wears beige and keeps her mouth shut anyway, lol, i have just 2 sons and i took that advice. weddings are overrated, you can see the pictures when they come back if they invite you over, but a trip to visit friends, well now that is a memory you can keep for yourself. hope his ear heals nicely and he finds a new friend.

Well, with a new true blue working shower for our guests...it will be
finished next year for sure...LOl...of course you will stay here...and we can make DIL dolls and stick pins into them. I know that DIL is the one who cut me out of that son's life.

I do hope Mik will do the right thing and tell him from me that when I quit drinking 45 years ago, all those kind of friends I fought with just disappeared.

oh my kids they keep us on our toes. I know that would be upsetting not to be able to go to your sons wedding. Why Hawaii they can go there on their honey moon

Well, why not post it on You Tube on surf boards...wish they would change their minds when friends and family want to attend. I am glad his ear can mend and it was not worse. Maybe that is not the best of friendships to drink with and the drinking makes them dangerous.

I'm not quite sure which situation is worse . . . your son hanging around and drinking with a potentially "dangerous" friend, or the fact that you may not be able to attend his wedding! There's got to be a middle-ground somewhere . . .

Oh dear, that is two bad situations. It seems to me that you have picked a good solution to the wedding - go do something for yourself with good friends and let the wedding pass unremarked. As to the friend... well it seems anyone who will do that level of damage is not a friend and I would agree that that level of drinking is not going to help either - a sober man might have been able to defend himself

Sorry to hear about Mik's ear - okay, that sounds funny, but I'll let it stand, LOL! I guess these things happen when one gets into fights with one's 'best friends'. And I guess his fiancee is calling the shots about the wedding - couldn't they get married in the bosom of their family and then take off for Hawaii on their honeymoon?
